ITmk3 - Three Japanese dragon heads turn to DRI-projects in CIS countries

In early July 2009, a number of reports of almost simultaneous advancing of Kobe Steel direct reduction of iron technology - ITmk3, in Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Russia.

I must say that the Japanese dragon, Kobe Steel, has already «marked» the territory of several countries of America, Europe and Asia with its brand - ITmk3. But now three of head of this noble reptiles appeared in three CIS countries! And why not appear when ITmk3 (Ironmaking Technology Mark Three - unique technology of direct reduction of iron) makes it possible to obtain high metallized raw materials from low quality iron ore without the use of expensive coke. The technology is simple, environmentally safe. It also provides recycling of mining-concentration and blast furnace productions wastes. The finished product has the form of spherical formations of the so-called “iron nuggets”, containing 96-98% of iron, 2-4% of carbon. «Nuggets» are smaller than other products of ore beneficiation in specific iron content and more convenient to store, which allows to reduce the cost of transportation.

Thus, we can speak with confidence about possible appearance of new products in the CIS based on Japanese know-how - «nuggets». The dragon is indeed a mysterious creature, one head does not know what the other thinks, especially if they get hungry ... Nevertheless, I would like to believe that in the case of ITmk3-projects in CIS the existence of common body of reptiles will help - a proven and reliable player, Kobe Steel. And Japanese dragons (this image is often associated with the Japanese island), according to the legends, were always noble!
