Hares Yussef sets his hands on the Far East

Hares Youssef continues to seek buyers for the direct reduction of iron technology ITmk3 (Iron Technology Mark 3) where Hares Engeneering owns the license for the territory of CIS

Another partner of the Syrian businessman is "Aricom", with its headquarter in London of Russian businessman Paul Maslovski, which owns several iron ore deposits in the Amur and Jewish Autonomous Region. According to the company, on the basis of these fields, in several years, Aricom will create a complex of metal production of deep processing. According to the director of "Arikom" Yuri Makarov, the company intends to establish the world's second factory to produce high quality pig iron using ITmk3 technology in Russia.

"We are now preparing a detailed design and conduct laboratory tests for Arikom, - the director of Hares Engeneering Razas Younes says. According to him, in 2009, signing of a contract for the construction of the plant for production of iron nuggets using ITmk3 technology is scheduled. According to Razaz Younes, an agreement with Russian Evrochem has been signed this year, which is considering applying ITmk3 at Kovdor GOK, also negotiatians with Russian OMK are being conducted.

The only Ukrainian claimant to construct the iron nuggets factory is "Metinvest" of Rinat Akhmetov, who considered such a possibility at the Northern GOK. Prior to the merger of "Metinvest" with "Smart holding" the realization of this project has been planned at the Ingulets GOK, but now "Metinvest", it seems, can not decide on the plans for a new production. The project to build direct reduction of iron plant is also considered by Poltava GOK of Konstantin Zhevago, but in this case Midrex technology was chosen, which occupies 59% of the world direct reduction of iron market. According to the Upras Capital analyst Alexander Makarov, Midrex disadvantage is the need to use large amount of natural gas (about 400 cub. m per 1 ton) as a raw material and high-quality pellets. "In the direct reduction of iron most of the impurities go to HBI, so you need to ensure an acceptable quality of pellets. A possible way out is to use pellets for the production of HBI produced from the best-quality ore, but in quarries several levels can be simultaneously developed and the quality of ore is different. Selective processing of ore is required, but it will cause problems with logistics at GOK ", - said the expert. In addition, less iron content will affect the efficiency of the process and increase the consumption of natural gas. In the case of ITmk3 technology concentrate and power-generating coal is used without gas consumption. In addition, technology allows us to avoid the transition of impurities into iron. But according to Mr Makarov, enterprises in any case will try to acquire the best coal with low ash and sulfur content, which could strengthen the demand for it at the domestic market.
