Activity Directions

Main area of Hares Engineering activities is engineering and construction of industrial facilities, implementation of new types of facilities, equipment, technological processes and techniques, rendering services in industrial design and engineering, marketing and consulting. Company's field of competence is metallurgy, machine building and mechanical industry, mining and process industry.

In 2005 Hares Engineering has acquired from Kobe Steel, Ltd, Japan a license for advanced iron reduction technology called ITmk3® (Iron-Making Technology Mark “3”) which allows to produce high purity iron nuggets by the reduction and melting of iron ore using coal as reductant.

According to this license Hares Engineering has the exclusive right to use patents and information on ITmk3® for the sale, design, engineering, supply, erection, commissioning and start-up of plants which are based on ITmk3® Process on the territory of ITmk3® of Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan and some other CIS countries. In the short term the main goal of Hares Engineering is construction of plants and manufacturing units to produce nuggets using Itmk3® technology.

In this regard the company is ready to perform the following:

• EPC works (Engineering, Procurement, Construction)

The project services include:

• design of project concept, feasibility study development and realization of all designed objectives;
• determination and supply of a variety of necessary facilities, equipment, parts and materials, approval of their technical parameters and quality control;
• construction and installation works performance.

To meet particular project requirements and to manage the time and costs at the most of project effectiveness the company outsource its network of partners. This approach is applied, especially, in large-size projects. Thus, during construction-assembly works stage a involvement of subcontractors are practicised.
Through its affiliated company Hares Engineering Ukraine the company has rooted in Ukraine as a foothold in CIS market and is able to use possible advantages provided by local available opportunities.

• General contractor duty

This type of works assumes realization of duties at design and logistics stages of the project. The work performance of these stages can be completed by customer or specialized organization.
To perform the stage of construction and installation works a specialized company is selected with a necessary capabilities to carry-out the whole work package. General subcontractor manages the construction using his own resources or involves subcontracted organization supervising its work and preventing possible risks. Thus, construction works usually are completed as "on turn key", that is general subcontractor constructs entire object contrary to being responsible for particular type of activities.

• General designer duty

This kind of activities assumes concept and draft design development, completion (if necessary) of architectural part of the project, solution of constructional part of the project, design of internal and external utilities - water supply, heat, ventilation, and development of work documentation. It includes also preparation of site documentation, development and approval of state examination documentation.
General designer obtains a permission (if necessary) for design of the object, preparation and preliminary design data as well as permission for construction and construction work performance.
General designer duties include also rendering a service when handing over for commission and designer supervision performance.
Management of construction logistics and construction and installation works performance is doing by the customer.

• Engineering, logistics of construction, project management services

Realization of such activities is performed by Hares Engineering as individual activity and within the framework of EPC responsibilities. Separate performance of engineering and construction logistics duties involves realization of the same functions as in the framework of EPC management. Rendering of services for project management includes:

• Project analysis, concept design, counseling and preliminary approval;
• Design management and actual project implementation, realization (if necessary) of works using own recourses and quality control of other companies work performance – project participants;
• Assistance in commissioning the object, designer supervision and management of already established objects.

• Management of project funding

Hares Engineering can work in fund and investment raising, The company develops project financing program, funding tailoring according to particular project conditions and stakeholders requests and opportunities. It could involve project financial support as different credit or investment resources.
